Neimen Marcus & Target Team Up

For the past few years, Target has teamed up with a designer for the start of the autumn season and another for the holidays. Designers in the past have included Alexander McQueen, Rodarte, and Missoni– and all of the collections are a huge commercial success with people lining up outside hours before and everything selling out within a matter of hours. This holiday season, Target teamed up with legendary department store Neimen Marcus, which is known for having some of the most coveted (and expensive) designers’ products. The collection is a collaboration between almost 50 designers, whom include: Band of Outsiders, Marchesa, Rodarte, Rag & Bone, and Oscar de la Renta.

I went when the items were released at my local Target and immediately fell for the items in the collection. There was a lovely black scarf from Marc Jacobs, an amazingly feminine bike from Alice & Olivia, and a stunning cape from Prabal Gurung.

But, in the end, I purchased a gorgeous dress from Robert Rodriguez, who had started his own line in 2003, for less than $100. The dress fits like a dream and is perfect with my style– I have worn it twice already (once to a nightclub and the second time to a formal party) and have received many compliments about it. The dress can easily be worn alone or with a nice jacket or blazer.

Overall, I absolutely adore this collection from Target and Neimen Marcus, both of whom should consider doing this collaboration once again. There are many things there for almost every style and several of the most admired designers in the world represented.

So, what do you think of the Target and Neimen Marcus collection? Do you think it should happen again? And is there an item you want from the collection?
