Runway Review: Rodarte Fall/Winter 2012/2013

Rodarte, a company built by two sisters, has created a reputation of detailed clothes with juxtaposed soft and hard fabrics. I absolutely adored Rodarte’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection because all of the dresses were printed with Vincent Van Gogh paintings; and the Fall collection is extremely good, but I feel slightly (extremely slightly) disappointed by the overall collection. I love the tiered, flowy dresses and the tribal-like style of the hard dresses– I love a juxtaposed style of the masculine hardness and the feminine softness, and Rodarte is one of the few companies that can execute that style perfectly.

What do you think of Rodarte’s Fall/Winter collection? Do you have a favorite look from the collection? And are there any specific collections you would like Trend to discuss?
