Fall Trend #1: Plaid Pants

While it is still July in the real world, it is the end of Summer in the fashion world. So, accordingly, Trend will begin its series of Fall trends. Personally, I am very excited for Fall trends (it is my favorite season both weather and fashion wise) and I thought to start with one of my favorite trends for the season– plaid pants. Plaid was a pattern that gained serious momentum in the 1990s with the Grunge movement, and has remained popular in button-down shirts ever since. But plaid has been revolutionized by being printed into pants, like the various prints that appeared on pants during the Summer months. These pants have been put out by such brands as Princess Vera Wang for Kohls, YMI, Paige Denim, Textile Elizabeth and James (which is available at Nordstrom), and DSQUARED 2. This trend is commonly found in skinny jean cuts (see photos 1 through 3) and should be worn with neutral, simple shirts, jackets, and accessories. As well, do not mix any other prints with plaid pants and NEVER wear a plaid shirt with these pants.

What do you think of this trend? And what do you think of July being the end of Summer in the fashion world?
