Eyelet was originally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s (think of a young Stevie Nicks) and has been revived on the Spring/Summer runways of Chanel, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton (see photo). This is one of my favorite trends to have come down the runways last September and I have already incorporated many eyelet pieces into my Spring/Summer wardrobe. Eyelet is similar to lace in that it is a delicate and romantic fabrtic that can be worn in a vintage style (such as with a skirt that flows, in a flirty summer dress, or with floral printed pants) or in a juxtaposed style
(such as with skinny jeans, leather pants, or with a motorcycle jacket). Continuing, eyelet must be worn in a modern style in order to maintain a fresh look and youthful attitude. Thus, wear eyelet with bold accessories, bright colors, and unique pieces that will ensure you stand out. As well, eyelet can be found and worn in multiple patterns, whether in dainty flowers or bold cut outs, and can be worn in traditional white, sweet pastels, or bold colors (see photo). No matter how you wear it, eyelet is a wonderful trend that can take you through the heat of the Summer and from day to night.
